A Sustainable Stride: UOB Heartbeat Run

Multiple Touchpoints

For several years, we’ve supported UOB’s Heartbeat Run by weaving sustainability into the event. At each run, our volunteers set up Green Corners to guide participants on proper recycling and collect banana peels — helping to manage waste responsibly.

Collected items were diverted from landfills and either sent to community gardens for composting or shared with other green partners, giving new life to what would otherwise be discarded. Over time, these efforts have made sustainability a regular part of UOB’s mass events. Beyond the Heartbeat Run, we continue working closely with UOB to strengthen sustainability across the organisation — from staff engagement to other green initiatives.

From Shoreline to Something New: LG Electronics Cleanup & Plastic Upcycling Workshop

Multiple Touchpoints

Cleanups are great, but what if we could take it a step further? Nearly 150 LG staff kicked off a coastal cleanup, removing an impressive 950kg of trash from the shoreline.

Instead of letting the collected plastic bottle caps go to waste, they returned for a follow-up upcycling workshop, transforming the caps into practical items. From cleanup to creation, participants experienced the full cycle, seeing firsthand how waste can be transformed rather than discarded.

Uplifting Young Minds: Capgemini x The SBL Vision Family Service Centre newPlastics Workshop

Helping Others

As part of Capgemini Singapore’s Impact Together month, we teamed up to bring a hands-on plastic recycling workshop for young beneficiaries at SBL Vision Family Service Centre.

With guidance from Capgemini volunteers, children learnt about single-use plastics and recycling while creating keychains, carabiners, and DIY art pieces from shredded plastics. For many, it was a refreshing chance to learn, create, and connect with caring volunteers. The session showed that sustainability is as much about uplifting others as it is about reducing waste — and that learning can be both meaningful and fun.

Full Circle: Supporting Wei Ming’s Paralympic Journey Through Community Cleanups

Helping Others

Sustainability goes beyond the environment — it’s also about supporting people. To back Tay Wei Ming, a national para-badminton athlete heading to the Paris Paralympics, we organised two cleanup sessions to raise funds for his training.

Generously sponsored by Estetica Beauty, volunteers from all walks of life joined in. Each bag of litter symbolised both environmental care and support for Wei Ming’s dreams. Years ago, Wei Ming had joined us for a coastal cleanup — this time, it was our turn to rally behind him, proving every action can come full circle.

Walking the Talk: Geography Trails for Educators

Co-Creating New Experiences

When the Geography Teachers’ Association approached us, they weren’t looking for a typical classroom lecture — they wanted educators to experience sustainability firsthand, on the streets, in homes, and across the heartlands.

We designed a Bedok heartland trail linking concepts like urban density and land use to real-life examples of sustainable living. Teachers returned with stories and practical tools for their classrooms, making learning memorable and grounded in lived experience.

HYDROX: Where Fitness Meets Cleanup

Co-Creating New Experiences

We love a good cleanup — but what if it could double as a workout? Inspired by HYROX, a global fitness movement, we created HYDROX: a coastal cleanup that turned environmental action into an energising fitness challenge.

Participants lifted, ran, and squatted their way through the cleanup — swapping kettlebells for trash bags — and collectively removed 212.5kg of litter. Fitness enthusiasts, green warriors, and curious first-timers all came together, breaking a sweat for a good cause. Proceeds from the session went to charity, proving that you can build strength while caring for the planet and community.

From Discards to Discoveries: Art x Sustainability with Kult Studio & Gallery

Co-Creating New Experiences

What happens when waste meets imagination? Together with Kult Studio & Gallery, we transformed discarded plastic bottles and old hotel bedsheets into a vibrant, immersive installation for Sentosa’s Sustainable Showcase. We helped assemble around 1,400 repurposed bottles into a feature wall and dyed linen sheets from Sentosa’s hotels to create a flowing seagrass ceiling display.

For six months at Beach Station, the installation celebrated creativity and circularity — showing how discards can become discoveries, and how art can inspire new ways of seeing sustainability.
